Throughout this month or so God has prepared a place to live, food, and new friends to meet. Within these 4 past weeks I have been enjoying the time to get to know my roommates via email. Just a few days ago we moved in and even more we are getting to know each other…..like a second family. More friends and family in our lives helps us live longer in life and spread the good news. God created us all to one in Him! Not only do we need to get on an airplane to travel to another country but we can look outside our window to see a African man dressed in a dashiki, woman wearing colorful cloths wrapped around her body, or an Asian carrying a umbrella on a sunny day to keep her skin pure. Culturally we live in America with a diversity society and we learn from each other. Just within the 1st week my Korean roommates and I have experienced cultural shock. For them, living according to the ways of life for Americans and for me learning their culture. The most cultural shock I have been experiencing is them talking in Korean and having no clue what they are saying. Although, time will pass and I will keep up with their language. One interesting thing has been my good taste for Korean food. Some of the foods most Americans don’t like nor the smell. My roommates usually say, “You are a good missionary….will be in Korea!” since I like their way of cooking.
